And we at Vidyaniketan have such scientists who have the quest for knowledge and love discovering. To celebrate National Science Day, science competitions were held for the classes 1 to 4 on 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 25th of February for classes 4, 3, 2 and 1 respectively.
The competitions started with class 4 students demonstrating various experiments related to light, electricity, separation of substances and fundamentals of life. Some of the students participated in group activities i.e., the model making. We could see students coming with excellent models on organ systems in our body, ideas to manage flood and drought, big factory, pollution and its effects.
This was followed by class 3 students who also displayed their proficiency in conducting various experiments on sound, magnets, food adulteration, properties of matter, innovative ideas to clean polluted air and water. An amazing display of models on phases of moon, rotation and revolution, rain water harvesting, human organ systems kept the judges and other viewers occupied.
Next day, it was the turn of class 2 students who competently showcased their demonstration and investigation skills with experiments on air, water, magnets and so on. And then there was a delightful display of “Trashion-Show” in which participants exhibited their eco-friendly outfits. Even here, participants grouped up to display marvellous models on different landforms and celestial objects. Participants also showcased their creative side by designing some ornaments made using the parts of a plant.
And finally, it was the class 1 students who stepped into action. They confidently demonstrated their experiments on air and water. Some participants enthusiastically spoke about the nutritional value of food items of their choice. In group activities, participants collaborated fantastically to come up with models on animals and their adaptations and means of transport.
And a concluding science day celebration was done on 28-02-2022, Tuesday. On the whole, there was a plethora of talent put on display throughout the celebration. Indeed, the future scientists were evident for all of us to see.
